A Juicy Burger

It's true. One hamburger contains 2,400 liters of 'virtual water'-the total amount of water consumed to make the product.

A cow grown for beef takes about three years before it can be slaughtered. During that time, it consumes about 1,300 kilograms (kg) of grain, 7,200 kg of pasture and hay, 24,000 liters of water for drinking, and 7,000 liters of service water.

Try to make a sandwich the rule and a burger the exception. A slice of bread with cheese has only 90 liters of virtual water content. And it's healthier. (Photo: Shutterstock)

Burger
That's a really impressing fact I didn't know... although I love burgers, I think I'll eat more sandwiches now.
