Eat local vegetables. They're good for you and the climate.
Eating local veggies has two major benefits. First, you cut back on fruits and vegetables that have to be flown in from around the world. Second, eating less meat reduces your carbon footprint, because to produce a one pound steak it takes 16 pounds of feed.
You do not have to give up on meat to make an impact. Buying better quality meat gives local farmers an incentive to raise healthier animals. (Photo: Reuters)
