Re-use your water bottle

Whether you go to the gym, play sports, or ride a bicycle, one thing you always need when you exercise is water. And because there’s not always a tap nearby, you need a water bottle.

Disposable water bottles produce about 1.5 million tons of plastic waste every year; plastic that needs about 50 million gallons of oil per year to produce. Even worse, about 80 percent of all plastic water bottles are thrown away, not recycled. You can make a difference by using your water bottle more than once. Fill it with tap water, and recycle it properly when you don’t need it anymore. (Photo: Reuters)
