Plant a Garden

First Lady Michelle Obama has discovered the benefits and the fun of growing her own vegetables: Lettuce, spinach, hot peppers, herbs and berries now grow on a patch of land outside the White House. The organic garden provides food for the first family and guests and is also a tool to educate children about the benefits of locally grown food, like less emissions from packaging and transportation.

So why not plant your own veggies in the garden? It’s a lot of exercise and gives you fresh vegetables to eat, a double bonus! (Photo: Reuters)
