Total Population Earth 1900 (3/9)

This map shows the distribution of the world’s population (1.56 billion people) in 1900. Asia's share of world's population was similar to its current percentage; Europe's share was much higher than it is today. This map does not, however, accurately depict the political situation at the time. Most African and many Asian countries did not gain independence until after the World War II.
