Lights On and Off (9/17)

This montage shows Sydney Harbour Bridge just before and after the lights went off during Earth Hour 2008. Energy consumption went down about 10.2 percent in the Central Business District (CBD) of Sydney, also saving emissions. The WWF, however, insist that Earth Hour is not so much about saving energy than about creating an event that unites billions of people around the world in common action. (Photo: James Alcock)
