Global Warming Isn't That Bad

Sceptics: A few degrees of warming will improve crop yields in many parts of the world. New land will become available for farming. Higher CO2 levels will improve growth.

Riposte: In northern Europe, Russia and Canada, moderate warming could benefit agriculture. If temperatures rise beyond 2 degrees Celsius these gains could be lost to droughts and disease. However, many African, Asian and Latin American countries will suffer even with small temperature increases. Up to one million square kilometers of African farmland could be lost by 2050.
