Adding to the concerns raised by Mr. Mohanty about Lack of Medical Infrastructure as a hinderance in the development of Microinsurance, I would like to add that the answer to this problem lies in the Spread of Awareness. Allianz which is focussed on development through education can team up with Social Activists who can help create the need for insurance and educate the community. Also, they can be of help to create pressure at the Central Govt. level to make the infrastructure available in the rural areas. Allianz can look at appointing volunteers - (not employees) who can further spread the awareness about microinsurance in the rural areas (I can volunteer for this)....In addition to this, to minimize the risk of fradulanet claims as pointed by Mr. Shreeraj, Allianz can look at making an association of small hospitals and dipenseries in the villages which can run under a set of rules laid by Allianz to make an effective chain of cashless claim settlement. In my opinion, the task is not difficult, it only needs some passionate people who do not want to work for money, but for self esteem.
