“G8 Summit 2009 - From La Maddalena to L’Aquila”
Where: L’Aquila, Italy
From July 8 to 10, Italy will host the annual meeting of the G8 summit in L’Aquila, Italy. The government will focus on the following topics during its presidency and the summit: Making the G8 more representative and more efficient, involving emerging countries and Egypt more in the G8’s work, and development in Africa and emerging countries

MOCA 2009: Our Warming Planet
Where: Montreal, Canada
The International Association for Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS), the International Association for the Physical Sciences of the Oceans (IAPSO), and the International Association for the Cryospheric Sciences (IACS) invite the international atmospheric, oceanographic, and cryospheric research community to their Joint Assembly MOCA-09, which will take place in Montreal, Canada from July 19 to 29. The Assembly will bring together researchers from around the world to work on climate problems, to advance their understanding of the climate system, and to interact, share their latest results and get stimulated to attack climate problems with a fresh perspective.
