Earth Hour

On March 28, at 8.30pm, Earth Hour aims to reach more than one billion people in 1,000 cities around the world who will turn their lights off for one hour to send a global message of hope and action in the fight against climate change. In 2007, more than 2 million homes and businesses in Sydney, Australia, joined the first Earth Hour and switched off their lights for one hour. One year later, this event had become a global sustainability movement – numerous cities in 35 countries, billboards on Times Square, Rome’s Colosseum, and San Francisco’s Golden Gate bridge all stood in darkness for one hour.
