European Wind Energy Conference & Exhibition
Where: Marseille, France
From March 16 to 19, the European Wind Energy Conference & Exhibition, organized by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), will focus on the future of wind power and renewable energies, the Renewable Energy Directive agreed by the EU in late 2008, and the relationship between energy supply and climate change. Speakers and panellists include Andris Piebalgs, EU Energy Commissioner, Rajendra Pachauri, Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Mechtild Rothe, Vice President of the European Parliament, and Nobuo Tanaka, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency.

Fifth World Water Forum
Where: Istanbul, Turkey
From March 16 to 22, the Fifth World Water Forum will take place in Istanbul, Turkey. Every three years, the World Water Council organizes the largest international event in the field of water, the World Water Forum, in collaboration with the host country. The main theme of the fifth forum will be “Bridging Divides for Water.” The Forum will provide opportunities to create, debate, and find solutions to achieve water security.
