Asia Waste Management Expo & Forum
For the first time, Kuala Lumpur will host the Asia Waste Management Expo & Forum (AWAM) 2008 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center from April 1 to 3. The event will focus on technology and services for waste collection, disposal and recycling. Across Asia, waste has become one of the biggest environmental issues in developing countries, especially in large cities.

Carbon Trade China
From April 1 to 3, the carbon market conference Carbon Trade China 2008 will take place in Shanghai, China. The conference will focus on China’s rising carbon emissions and potential Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects. Experts from various industries as well as government officials will provide information on the latest developments. An exhibition will showcase Chinese CDM projects and products from international CDM companies.

Bioenergy: Challenges and Opportunities
The international conference and exhibition on Bioenergy will take place in Guimaraes, Portugal from April 6 to 9. The focus will be on bioenergy markets, fuel production, conversion of biomass and carbon markets. The three-day meeting will present keynote speakers from various European countries from different industries and scientific communities.

World Health Day
Promoted by the World Health Organization, this year’s World Health Day is dedicated to the impacts of climate change on health issues and how to prepare for such changes . Under the theme “Protecting health from climate change”, World Health Day promotes increased international collaboration, better control of infectious diseases and improved use of diminishing water supplies.
