4. February | World Cancer Day

Each year on 4 February WHO joins with the sponsoring International Union Against Cancer to promote ways to ease the global burden of cancer. Preventing cancer and raising quality of life for cancer patients are recurring themes.

6. February | New Delhi CEO Forum 2008

The CEO Forum is a partnership event of TERI-Business Council for Sustainable Development and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). CEOs and other stakeholders discuss roles and impact of the business community on sustainable development with emphasis on how best to enhance the bottom line while being environmentally and socially responsible.

7. February | Delhi Sustainable Development Summit

Since 2001, the Tata Energy Research Institute organizes the yearly three day Sustainable Development Summit, which takes place in Delhi, India this year. This year's focus lies on the theme “Sustainable Development and Climate Change”. Sustainable developmental issues will be dealt with from a developing country's perspective.

7. February | Tyndall Conference: Living with climate change

The Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research and the University of Oslo convene a two-day international conference on adapting to climate change at the Royal Geographical Society in London. 

The meeting will explore potential barriers that may limit the ability of societies to adapt to climate change and identify opportunities for overcoming these barriers. Main topics are: Adapting to thresholds in physical and ecological systems; the role of values and culture in adaptation; Governance, knowledge and technologies for adaptation.

14. February | Business in the Community's Annual Conference

What do businesses need to exist in tomorrow's marketplace? The Business in the Community Conference, in Association with BT, held in London tries to develop answers. 22. February | Berlin Conference on Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change

This 2008 Berlin Conference will be the eighth event in the series of annual European Conferences on the Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change, and the first International Conference of the Social-Ecological Research Programme. It is held in Berlin on 22-23 February. It particularly targets at bringing together trandisciplinary research results on long-term policies from various fields.

26. February | The Future of the Carbon Market

The Future of the Carbon Market comes at a crucial time for all participants with an interest in carbon as they prepare for Phase II of the EU ETS and its increasingly stringent emissions cap.
