5th International Microinsurance Conference
Where: Dakar, Senegal
The 5th International Microinsurance Conference hosted by the Microinsurance Network and the Munich Re Foundation will be held from November 3 to 5 in Dakar, Senegal. Over 300 representatives from international organizations, NGOs, development-aid agencies, and academics will discuss topics such as “linking microfinance and microinsurance”, “the African microinsurance experience”, and “the economic analysis of microinsurance markets”.

Where: Düsseldorf, Germany
From November 3 to 6, the world's largest specialist trade fair for all aspects of occupational safety, security, and health will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany. The trade fair will include a “Disaster Control Forum” on November 4, a themed park on hazardous substances, and exhibits on topics such as protective equipment, safe installations, fire and environmental protection, workplace design and office ergonomics. Program highlights include the Conference of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the “European and International Network Meetings” and the “International Lecture Series”.

First Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety
Where: Moscow, Russia
From November 19 to 20, the Government of the Russian Federation will host the First Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Moscow, Russia. The conference seeks to raise awareness about the impact of road traffic crashes, and to advance road safety worldwide, especially in developing countries. Russian President Dimitri Medjedev will open the conference with a keynote address.

European Microfinance Week 2009
Where: Luxembourg
From November 24 to 26, the European Microfinance Week 2009 will offer plenary, workshop and roundtable sessions around this year’s theme “Microfinance in a new financial era“. Speakers from microfinance and financial institutions will examine how the microfinance sector has reacted to the global financial crisis.
