Allianz Knowledge on Demography: Screenshot of ACTION (Assisting Carers using Telematics Interventions to meet Older people’s Needs) webiste. The service is directed at frail older people who prefer to stay in their own homes but who are in need of support.

Allianz Knowledge on Demography: Screenshot of the E-Care website. The E-Care system coordinates and integrates an ICT-based service network for elderly people and carers and generates personalized care pathways for the care of older people at home. E-CARE is promoted by the Region Emilia-Romagna, Provinces, Municipalities and Local Health Authorities of Bologna and Ferrara.

Allianz Knowledge on Demography: Just Checking (JC), established in 2003, aims to help people in the early stages of dementia to continue to be independent and to enjoy life, with the help of carers.

Allianz Knowledge on Demography: Book Your own Breaks screenshot. Set up in 2005 on the basis of half a million pounds of government money from the Community and Local Government to set up an e-marketplace which gave companies a service to recruit staff at a short term basis. The service was then adapted to other purposes, including social care and respite provision.

Allianz Knowledge on Demography: Carers UK helps carers break isolation by providing an online forum which puts carers in touch with each other, offering peer-to-peer support, information, discussion on any and all issues related to carers and a “listening ear”.
